I really had no idea about what a Chola was. I was at PIG's office with my boss (and friend) Sean and I was searching for some mood images for a a styling project I was working on, the new Pharmacy lookbook. So I asked him about those Puerto Rican girls, I always saw on police tv series in the 90's. He really opened a new world to me. So I kind of jumped in their world and actually start liking them!

I discovered that their kind of style started in the early 1940's, in Los Angeles. They always have veeery thin eyebrows and veeery thick eyeliner, dark lined lips with a lighter lipstick, white tank tops with plaid shirts, gold jewelry (like giant earrings or name necklaces), bandanas and large low waist pants.

I instantly connected their aesthetic with the video of the song "Luxurious" by Gwen Stefani. She is amazing as usual, but in this video she is sooooo better! I wish I could be on a Cadillac with lots of Bling Bling, my Cholo and my boxer dog.
