This is the last fashion shoot my friend Yara De Nicola did for PIG MAGAZINE, styled by Ilaria Norsa and me. I love it! She is so truly talented...

SOPHIA AND ELVIS

The beauty of this pictures is unbelievable. I was searching for old photos about Sophia Loren's beginnings and at some point a saw one of these little previews among the others and I thought: "Sophia Loren with Elvis Presley? No way, I must be crazy". Fortunately I was completely sane. Then I discovered that Mrs Sophia met Elvis at Pramount Studios in 1958, while he was filming "King Creole"; she litterally jumped on his knees and gave him a kiss on the cheeck, saying she loved his music. A photographer who happened to be there, Bob Willoughby, stopped that moment forever.

A WEEKEND IN VIAREGGIO
"Viareggio in te son nato in te spero morire"
Some weeks ago I spent an amazing weekend down in Viareggio, Rebecca's hometown. It was my first time ever in Versilia, I am not used to go to the sea there because I am too demanding and I do not like bathing in other places than Sicily. But, I have to say, Viareggio's "lidi" are really well organized. We tanned, lying in the sun, we had a great openair whirlpool and we chatted a lot about random gossips...
She is Samantha, a.k.a La Sammy, she is one of Rebecca's best friends and I truly loved her. She is kind of hostile with people she does not know, but with me it was love at first sight! You know, I know how to deal with people, it's kind of a natural gift. Sammy is the typical kind of old-fashioned girl, who wants a true love and lot of kids in a big house with a garden, and a dog, of course.
I totally adore this picture of me. It has a 70's mood that reminds me of my mom old photos at the sea. I need to scan one of them and show it to all of you soon!
Oh well, this one explains perfectly our first night in Viareggio. Rebecca brought me in this club on the beach, called Macondo. We were "a bit" drunk, that's why I took this picture of her while... well you can actually see by yourself what she is doing! We danced all night all kind of trashy and commercial songs, from "Waka Waka" to "Maracaibo". Amazingly funny ahahah
I guess my second day in Viareggio was my favourite one. We went by boat and I also fished! I was soo relaxed and I loved getting tan while Rebecca was reading some trashy gossip magazines. She loves this kind of stuff, she even made a subscription to gossip sms... My god!

IL SISTEMA DEGLI OGGETTI
Last week we met Caterina Coccioli, Anna Lottersberger and Alessandro Manzi, the designers behind IL SISTEMADEGLI OGGETTI project. Was the hottest day ever here in Milan, but we had a nice coffee and some cold water, with air conditioning (thanks God!) at their studio, an amazing penthouse near the Central Station, after waiting for half an hour Rebecca, who was late as usual!
The name of the brand comes from a famous book by Jean Baudrillard "Le systéme des objets". They created their first collection in 2009, starting from a common passion for uniforms and iconic dresses.
They invited us to have a look at the ss11 male collection and the aw10. Anna showed me the whole collection with lot of enthusiasm, I could feel all the passion they put in making the best made in italy product. The cut is amazingly tailored and the prints are just fabulous.
We asked them modeling for us. Who better than the designer can express the soul of his creation? So... she is Caterina, with a fantastic silk printed dress, so soft, from the aw10 collection.
She is Anna, with one of my favourite dresses from the collection... that mountain print is absolutely beautiful.

CINDERELLA...
...doesn't need a prince to get her Crystal shoes.
I should wear them at my friend's Sabrina wedding the 24th of July but I don't think I can be able to wait!

CHOLAS
I really had no idea about what a Chola was. I was at PIG's office with my boss (and friend) Sean and I was searching for some mood images for a a styling project I was working on, the new Pharmacy lookbook. So I asked him about those Puerto Rican girls, I always saw on police tv series in the 90's. He really opened a new world to me. So I kind of jumped in their world and actually start liking them!
I discovered that their kind of style started in the early 1940's, in Los Angeles. They always have veeery thin eyebrows and veeery thick eyeliner, dark lined lips with a lighter lipstick, white tank tops with plaid shirts, gold jewelry (like giant earrings or name necklaces), bandanas and large low waist pants.
I instantly connected their aesthetic with the video of the song "Luxurious" by Gwen Stefani. She is amazing as usual, but in this video she is sooooo better! I wish I could be on a Cadillac with lots of Bling Bling, my Cholo and my boxer dog.
